Pillow Pet
Jason and I got Lauren a pillow pet. She loves it and took it to bed with her the first few nights. She has at least five stuffed animals in her crib with her already so with the frog there was hardly room for her! We still don't have a name for the frog yet, but it seems that this guy is going to be an important addition to the house, so he will need a name soon.

15 month check-up
Lauren had her 15 month check-up today. As always, the doctor is impressed with her. She did exactly what he asked and it was great when they ask the development questions...yes, yes, for months, always... He was not worried at all that she isn't saying many words- they are only looking for comprehension at 15 months and she clearly has that down! She babbles all day and has several words in her vocabulary. She knows how to sign and she is "obviously very smart" according to the doctor. She was all over the place climbing and was otherwise a great patient laughing and showing off...until the shots came! For the first time she was very, very upset. It took her a long time to calm down and that made me more upset...I did give her a dum-dum lollipop from the bowl at the check out. That made her happy- or at least it distracted her for a few minutes!
Lauren weight 22.2 pounds which is the 37th percentile for weight. She is 31.25 inches tall which is the 75th percentile for height. Her head circumference is 18.5 inches which is the 77th percentile. I guess due to the fact that her height and weight percentiles are so far apart the doctor made the comment that she needed to gain weight. I double checked and asked if he was sure. She has all these rolls still (which I absolutely adore!) and is far from starving or even skinny. He said, "shovel the food in"... huh?! She is a great little eater! Whatever. We are going to keep doing what we do - eating tons of fruit, vegetables, yogurt, protein and healthy foods- with the occasional ice cream or Sonic slush :) Lauren really is a great eater and eats such healthy foods. She has never eaten a french fry or chicken nugget- nor do I plan on introducing those foods anytime soon. She would rather have an orange than a cookie. She dips her french toast and waffles in yogurt and doesn't like syrup or jelly. Anyway, my point is that I am not going to change anything about how she eats and I surely won't be doing any shoveling...
The doctor didn't seem concerned with all her bruises after seeing her move around the the office...she is a bit clumsy, but she has no fear and bumps and bruises don't slow her down. He will check on it again at 18 months, but if it continues to be a problem we will do some testing to determine if she has a blood disorder or perhaps low iron levels. For now she is just a very happy toddler with a few bruises!

Corn on the Cob
It isn't that Lauren won't eat corn off the cob, but if she has the option...it is so much more fun to eat it ON the cob... I am not quite sure how much she is actually eating, but she loves to act like mom and dad and "eat" it on the cob. complete with the biggest smile you have ever seen...she is so proud!

Funday Continued Outside
She is lovin' it!
Must be in control of the water...she even "tells" Jason to turn the water on or off...
Sunday Funday
After a nice breakfast out (where we discovered Lauren doesn't like syrup or jelly) we came home and Lauren had fun putting all her balls in the various baskets and bags around the house. I got the camera out WAY too late and missed how funny it was. I tried video taping, but she sees the camera and stops doing what I am trying to tape....
She loves to help me with the laundry and thinks it is her job to get in the baskets
She wants to be carried around while she sits in the basket...
Ok, she is done with that fun

Southlake Town Center Fountain
Lauren and I had some errands to run at the Town Center, so we stopped in for some gelato and fun at the fountain. What a great summer afternoon!
We tried out all the benches...
Here she is mimicking the birds...
and wanting to do everything she saw him do...

Camping Out
Lauren loves to lay in and play with her tent. She is laying in there and drinking (spilling) her milk before bed. She runs in there and hides from the dogs and rolls around with her stuffed animals. She seems to really enjoy it. However I don't think it will make it as a portable bed for her...she doesn't want to sleep in it any more than she wants to sleep in a pack n play... oh well, we tried!
Play DATE with Cael & First Kiss
I am not kidding when I say it was a play "DATE"! Lauren and Cael had a great time playing blocks together, reading and pushing toys around the house. Then we all went outside so the kids could swim. After they ate lunch Lauren and Cael cuddled up on the couch and had their first kiss! I have not laughed so hard in a long time. They kissed once and we started laughing... Lauren saw how we reacted so she did it again. They both got WAY into it and we finally separated them when it got R-rated. It was so hysterical and honestly, is there anything cuter than toddlers kissing?!
