Crazy Hair

This is my happy girl with her crazy hair (well, what little bit she has)! She still loves bath time!

11 Updates at 11 Months

  1. She wants to “walk” everywhere. One finger or two fingers and she is off… She can balance on her own and has started to take one step between grabbing the next, but not quite walking yet. Jason and I have bets as to the day she will take her first step now also. It is close!!
  2. She is so over baby food. I think I am done buying baby food… I have a few jars left, but she wants to eat what I am eating. Bananas, oranges, beans, macaroni, chicken, carrots, green beans…you name it, she wants it! She won’t eat everything, but she definitely is done with baby food.
  3. She loves Logan and Loudoun! She just loves to “pet” them and gets giddy with excitement when she sees them every morning. She plays ball with Logan and she and Loudoun have a special bond!
  4. Lauren likes to be outside. She gets so happy when we walk outside and the cold air hits her! She gets so excited with snow and cold air. It is too cute.
  5. Lauren loves to “read” her books. She also likes to eat them! She pulls them all out of her bookcase, flips through the pages, “reads” outloud, and then puts them in her mouth.
  6. Lauren has started to use utensils. She realizes food goes on them and then you eat it. A lot of times she will take a piece of food, put it on her spoon, smile with pride, then take the food off the spoon and put it in her mouth. Other times she will hold the spoon and put it in her mouth with or without food on it. So, we have some work to do here, but she is definitely making some connections. It is so fun watching her figure things out.
  7. Lauren will now “shake, shake, shake” during her Little Gym song. Whenever I sing her song, she knows when to shake it! She is so adorable. She is really remembering things and recognizing patterns. She will also wave and clap when you ask her to- or whenever she wants to.
  8. She gives kisses, and pets to people and things. She loves to pet daddy with his scruff or on his head since he has short hair. She also loves to pet the puppies.
  9. She has her favorite snuggle toy- LaLa – or, as Aunt Tina calls it: the elephant head on a blanket! She also waits for you to cover her up at night with her crib blanket. Neither of these items are things she has to have, but she does snuggle up to them when she sees them.
  10. She wants to be the center of attention. She is cute and she knows it. When we go to Target or are just out and about, she is so happy when people are oohing and ahhing over her. This happens most of the time. She will smile, wave and flirt with anyone, but particularly men. She even lifted her skirt up for the Tmobile guy! However, if she is not the center of attention she is very upset. She wants people to notice her!
  11. Lauren is getting really good at getting on and off things – the couch, her chair, her riding toys. She also likes to put her head down on the ground so I can help her do somersaults. She is very active and into everything. Another favorite activity is emptying kitchen cabinets, pulling everything out of the dishwasher and pulling the laundry out of the baskets.

Our Boys...

How adorable are they...?!

Here is sweet Logan, the angel

And our rowdy Loudoun, who can find trouble anywhere!

My Little Puppy

Lauren is pretending to be a little puppy... I was actually trying to take a picture of the redness under her eye to show the doctor. It appears from time to time, gets really pink and then goes away in a couple days. (the doctor diagnosed it as eczema)

Cart Driving

Lauren thought this cart was so much fun! She "drove" it all around the store!

Foss Wedding

Last night was Eric and Tila's wedding in Fort Worth...it was also our first night away from Lauren. Brian and Tina came up from Georgetown to be parents for a night and they did a GREAT JOB! They sent pictures throughout the night and enjoyed our little darling. We had a great job at the wedding (which included hours of the wedding party playing Rock Band!) and the post wedding celebrations. I definitely missed my little princess and was anxious to get home to her this morning, but she was in great hands! Thank you Uncle Brian and Aunt Tina! Here are some pictures of Lauren's night and our fun adult evening...

Cuddling with Dad

Lauren never sucks on her pacifiers... this is a rare moment. She does like to chew on them and talk to them...

Here she is cuddling with dad. Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Lunch

We all went out to lunch at Benito's today for Valentine's Day! They didn't have a high chair, so Lauren got to sit in a booster seat. She really enjoyed eating Mexican food!

Pushing her Toys Around

Here is Lauren playing with her toys and pushing her stroller around...a favorite activity these days! She is such a happy baby!

Happy Daytona 500 Day!

Yes, it is Valentine's Day also, but the celebrations in our house revolved around some other words you want to hear..."Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!" The green flag at Daytona is a long awaited event in our house and we all enjoyed the race. Here are a few pictures of our little Valentine today:

Our One-Socked Child... She always takes off her left sock... we aren't sure why, but she spends a lot of time with one sock on and one sock off...

Walking with Mom and a Few Kisses

Lauren is still so close to walking. She loves to walk around while holding your fingers... Every day I say, today is the day she is going to walk on her own...but it hasn't happened yet.

And she is still a little love bug, giving kisses on demand.

How Much Snow?

We could not believe how much snow we got here... It seemed like it snowed forever! That happens in Virginia, but not in Texas. I was so excited. Here are a few pictures of the snow around us...

SNOW DAY!

We got 9 inches of snow here in Fort Worth. These were Lauren's first pictures in the snow. We didn't subject her to a photo shoot on Christmas Eve because it was so cold and WINDY out. But today it just snowed...and snowed...and snowed. I think it snowed for over 24 hours straight. It was a lot of snow. Lauren and I just stayed indoors and had fun taking pictures and making forts out of boxes. Jason did a great job of keeping the driveway shoveled and the cars clear of snow.

Lauren's First Time Touching Snow

Lauren didn't get to experience our Christmas Eve snow because we left so early on Christmas morning, so this snowfall was really her first experience touching and seeing snow. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it..
