Cabin fever had definitely set in and we were all ready to get out of the house. Since we had such beautiful weather we decided it would be the perfect day to meet the Hennesseys in Wynnewood to see the GW Exotic Animal Park. We both had passes that were about to expire, so we planned the trip. We had seen the signs from I-35 so many times and every time said, “We need to go there sometime”. Well now we have been and it isn’t anything I need to do again… Granted, the premise of the park is worthwhile and wonderful- all the animals there have been rescued from other places and they are now rehabilitating them and caring for them at the GW Park. But seeing all those animals in kennel-like cages was a little too much for me. I have a hard time at the zoo where they have landscaped areas and hopefully world-class care, but this was a bit of a stretch for me. Regardless, Lauren and Kaitlyn had a great time- although I think they were more excited to see each other than they were to see all the rare species of animals! and of course Lauren asked what each animal’s name was!
Colson looks like such a big kid in this picture! He definitely enjoyed the fresh air!

hi lion!
Helping Lauren see into one of the cages
enjoying the day with friends!
our two little monkeys
Lauren enjoyed watching the mommy and daddy snuggle
Lauren started jumping around near this lion kennel and this female lion got right up and paced with her. I think the lion thought she was watching her next meal!
The park had a nice swing set we all played on after we were done looking at the animals.
Kaitlyn and Lauren enjoyed the tire swing
taking some time out for a little snack
and playing chase! so much fun!
hugs goodbye! :(
best buddies
