what Lauren says these days...

or it might be easier to say what she doesn't say...She says everything! I guess kids just get to a point where they just say everything. She repeats things I say, she tells me things I was telling someone else, she tells me about her days and makes me laugh with some of the hysterical observations she makes...and makes me smile with some of the sweet things she says.

Tonight our conversation went like this:

LF: mommy, can I have an apple please?
me: It is kind of late, do you want to split it?
LF: YEAH! Yeah, I love to share with you!
me: Ok, great! (laughing at her enthusiasm)
LF: You want to sit on the couch and cuddle with me and eat apples? I love to do that.
me: Sure honey, that sounds perfect!

She tells me all the time how pretty I look.  She asks me "Mommy, you have a good workout?" when I pick her up from the gym. She asks questions with such inflection, interest and enthusiasm in her voice it almost doesn't matter what she says it is just hysterically adorable.

A few sayings that Lauren says now that we are correcting her on are:

"I can't will" - meaning "I won't"
"I can't know"- meaning "I don't know" or "I don't remember"

Some cute word pronunciations she has right now:

"Mott mow hos" for Marshmallows
"heddy" for heavy
"bading soup" for bathing suit
"nap map" for nap mat
"emma emmas" for M&M's

hair pulling

Tonight Lauren and Colson were playing and wrestling as they often do. Colson grabbed a huge chunk of her hair and ripped it out. She told him, "Cole-in don't pull my hair out...then I would be a boy." I asked her what she meant and she said, "If Cole-in pulls all my hair out I won't have any hair and I will be a boy."

I-keem

After the museum today, the kids fell asleep in the car. Instead of chancing moving them inside and waking them up, we just sat in the car for naptime - what I call a garage nap! I always have a book or magazine in my car to read and sometimes I even nap too. Lauren slept over 2 hours today and when she woke up she asked for "I-keem" (ice cream). Since Colson was still asleep  and I wanted him to keep sleeping, a quick drive to Sonic sounded like a great idea...Colson could sleep (he ended up sleeping 3 hours), Lauren got her ice cream and everyone was happy!

I let Lauren eat her ice cream in the car...

Cowboy Museum

Since we have season passes to the Cowboy Museum it seemed like the perfect rainy day activity today. We met Natalie and Violet there and the girls were quite happy to see each other. We had to remind them to use their inside voices and to walk a few times - they were so excited about everything!

Lauren was inviting Violet to go into jail with her

birthday plans

Lauren has been talking about her birthday for weeks...Tonight I asked her what kind of birthday party she wanted and she replied, "I want a princess Jasmine birday with cake and candles...and her friend Rajah."

Lauren in the baby swing

Lauren begs us to go outside- she just loves the outdoors! Luckily it has been so nice out we have been able to spend most days outside with no jackets, hats or worry of getting cold! Today Lauren really enjoyed swinging in the baby swing!

and made sure to bring her new Ariel water bottle out!

it never fails...Lauren always wears her crocs on the wrong feet!

Storytime

Lauren wanted to read Colson a book this afternoon. Colson wasn't as interested in listening as he was in eating the book and rocking in the chair, but Lauren was being such a sweet big sister. I love listening to her "read" also!
