Lauren has been begging Jason and I to get her ears pierced and we always said when she wanted to do it that we would let her. She was so excited and couldn't stop talking about it the last few days when we finally sat down and agreed to get it done. Every day she woke up and said, "Is today the day I get my ears pierced?"
Lauren had been talking to everyone about it and telling them that she knew it would hurt for a minute and that she was going to be brave. She kept saying, "I am going to get my ears pierced, just like you and wear real earrings in my ears."
I wanted to wait until I had another adult with me, so we arranged to go tonight around 6 pm. I did some research and found the only place that would/could do both ears at once. One of my former students was working at Claire's and actually was one of the girls who pierced Lauren's ears, which was neat.
Lauren sat so still waiting for Taylor to clean her ears and put the little dots in the correct places.
she was all smiles before...
one last picture of Lauren's ears without earrings...
So Taylor and the other girl pierced her ears at the same time while my mom and I held Lauren's hands (and Tina graciously occupied Colson). The earrings went in and Lauren was fine, then she looked at us and then cried about 5 seconds later. She was very upset for a couple minutes saying "it hurt" and even asked to take the earrings out a couple times. After a few minutes she calmed down and just complained a little for the next 30 minutes that it still hurt. By the time we were done with dinner and eating ice cream, she was fine and very happy with her beautiful sparkly earrings!
