Trying to take a picture of Colson in his car outfit (0-3 months)- he is outgrowing his clothes so fast, I am not sure if he will get to wear it again!

Lauren's First Time Bowling
Sunday Family Fun Day was a trip to the bowling alley today. It was Lauren's first time at a bowling alley and she seemed to enjoy it. She loved her pink ball and had no problem carrying it around- even though it weighed 7 pounds! She liked to watch the ball roll down the ramp, but I am not sure she understood the point was to knock over the pins. She loved waiting for the ball to return and kept saying, "come back, come back ball". She would push her ball down the ramp and then run to the ball return waiting for it to come back to her. She also enjoyed sitting in the chairs and putting her face and hands in the "cold" hand dryer. Colson slept for a while, but it was pretty loud so he eventually woke up and watched us... Final score- we all did pretty poorly! Lauren almost beat mom!

Similarities and Differences (Part 1)
There are so many things about my two kids that are so similar. And then some that are so different. I know these lists will continue to grow every day, but for now (after reviewing Lauren's baby book):
Similarities at this age:
Similarities at this age:
- Hiccups and spits up a lot
- Doesn't cry much
- Has beautiful coloring
- Lost their hair - Lauren lost everything except around her neck. Colson has lost from his forehead to his scalp.
- Sweet, happy babies that make my heart smile!
- Colson is so patient and calm; Lauren was fiesty and easily frustrated...
- Colson has blue eyes; Lauren has big brown eyes.
- Colson will sleep anywhere and however I lay him down. Lauren had to sleep on my chest or in my arms until she was about 6 weeks old. Then she would only sleep on her tummy.
- Colson is very tolerant and laid back; Lauren made sure we knew she was mad. We were told from day 1 that she was an "alpha female" and we'd have our hands full with her! (ex. In the hospital Lauren returned from her heel stick screaming and crying. Colson returned from his heel stick content. He wasn't crying after his circumcision either)
- Colson calms down when I sing to him or if I put on Zac Brown songs. Lauren loved Rascal Flatts and could care less about my singing.
- Colson still likes to be swaddled- sometimes he fights it a little if he is already fussy, but generally will stay in it; Lauren hated it after about a week and was like Houdini getting out of any swaddle we put her in.
- Colson isn't too interested in tummy time and usually puts his head down to sleep; Lauren was scooting a little and enjoyed it.
- Colson took an ounce of milk from a bottle from me tonight with no crying and only a few "what is this?" looks; Lauren took a bottle from me, but made sure I knew she hated it. She screamed and cried until her lips were quivering...
- Colson will take a pacifier a few times a week; Lauren never took one.
- Random: Lauren's umbilical cord fell off when she was 3 weeks old. Colson's fell off around day 5!
Who is the baby?
Lauren has asked me several times in the last 2 days to "try mommy's milk". She wants to nurse...I can't even entertain that idea! She also has asked to be changed on the diaper changer (luckily she hasn't asked to wear diapers again!) or get wiped like a baby. She loves to play with all the baby toys and today climbed into the high chair and asked to eat her snack in it. She was so happy...
Saturday
Lauren's Saturday craft was painting a little ceramic figure. She got a little carried away mixing all the colors but had fun with her paints.
Then we made some whole wheat banana nut muffins. yummy!
Lauren got her lacing practice animals out and decided to use the string to walk the rooster (dragging it behind her as she pushed her stroller). Roosters are called "Cockle-doos" right now. Lauren kept saying "walk cockle-doo" so cute.
After nap time we headed to the pool- which Lauren was ecstatic about. She helped me pack everything we needed- especially her swimming ring she has been practicing with. She got cold quickly swimming so we only stayed for about an hour, but she had a great time.
I just LOVE this picture-
Lauren led Jason around the pool area and told him everything she wanted to do...she has him wrapped around her little finger - even if he doesn't want to admit it!

Big Sister
Lauren has been a great big sister. She helps me get blankets and toys. She considers it her job to pick out the clean diaper when Colson needs one...she has to go through several and find the one with Elmo or Cookie Monster or whatever character she is in the mood for at the moment...It has also been her job to throw away the dirty diapers and she is more than happy to help. She constantly wants to play and love on Colson- sometimes a little too much. We have to be very watchful of her around him because she plays a little rough and loves a little hard...but I love how much she loves him and wants to help him. I know they will have a very special relationship growing up together and am so thankful they have each other! Love my two angels.
