Decorating Cookies

We went to a cookie decorating playdate today and Lauren was just a little excited!

She had so much fun decorating her cookies and was so focused on what she was doing.

She was very particular on how she wanted to decorate them too.

very pleased with her creation

yummy!

what month is it?

We spent the afternoon playing outside today...in shorts! The kids found all the swim toys and if we had a pool we probably would have been swimming! Instead, they just got to pretend!

Christmas Light Tour

Jason is out of town this weekend, so the kids and I enjoyed a late night at the gym, dinner at the cafe and then a Christmas Light tour. It was such an enjoyable evening together!

big tree? check.

Jason wanted a big Christmas tree this year...which seemed like a great idea. We have been in houses with low ceilings the last few years and this year we had a 2 story living room to put it in...

So as our tradition has been since our first Christmas together in 2003 we went to get our tree the first weekend of December.

In the white tent at Home Depot this tree looked pretty average- okay a little bigger than average, but not huge. Jason got it on the car with no problem and we went home...

We are excited about our tree - a 10-12 foot Frasier Fir

doesn't look that big

Jason dragged it in the house and well, it looked pretty big considering it went across the entire living room floor (after cutting a bit on the trunk off)

and after a few attempts to put this tree up, we realized something... tall trees have large diameters! We weren't sure where in the living room it was going to fit!

and then the next problem happened-- our tree stand was not big enough to hold our tree - which turned out to be a 13 foot tree! So Jason bought a bigger heavy duty tree stand and anchored the tree to the wall. We started to really question whether we should have got this big of a tree...

and we really started rethinking this huge tree when we started to decorate it and had to move ladders around every few minutes and then ran out of lights and ornaments...

Tina turns 30!

Tina turned 30 this week and celebrated by going to Painting with a Twist tonight. It was a fun girls night out and we all left with a masterpiece to hang in our house - or laundry room...

The Adventures of Snappy- week 1

December 1 - Snappy arrives! He brought a little North Pole breakfast for us too and a note to let us know he had been waiting to come back until we had started decorating for Christmas. He said he had problems finding us at our new house but he'd let Santa know we moved from last year.
