is that Santa?

Lauren got to pick new bubbles at Target today and she totally surprised me when she didn't want the princess bubbles but wanted the Toy Story bubbles. I never figured out why since all she talked about was getting princess bubbles all day, but she was happy with her bubbles!

She put them on her face in the bath today and called herself Santa!

washer fascination

Colson regularly makes his way to the laundry room to stare in fascination at the washer and dryer.

He knocks over all the laundry baskets...

and gets so excited watching the clothes dry

He stands up and talks to the dryer (and sometimes kisses it)

On this morning, there were no clothes drying, so he just played with the door- swinging it open and shut...

repeatedly

and everything is more fun with sister, so she had to join in also!

Lauren mostly just watches Colson and narrates what he is doing!

Colson in the tent

Lauren was playing with this tent today and let all her animals take a nap in it. Colson was very curious and found his way in also. Lauren and Colson laughed and played and had a great time being silly together in the tent...but Colson didn't like being zipped up inside it where he couldn't get out - but Lauren though it was pretty funny!

little princesses

Our Tuesday playgroup was at our house this week and Lauren and her friends had a lot of fun eating homemade granola bars and homemade pop tarts for snack. Lauren was very tired and cranky for a little while and actually went and put herself to bed for a nap. I convinced her to join her friends and she enjoyed playing and then had storytime. Finally Lauren decided to get out her princess dresses which was the best idea of the day! They danced around, giggled and twirled in their dresses. These girls are such little princesses and luckily they all have a different favorite princess!

my pretty girl

Lauren really wanted to look extra pretty when we went over to Jett's house tonight for the Superbowl. She wanted to wear a dress and had to accessorize-- she looked just adorable...

celebrating our engagement

Natalie graciously watched Lauren and Colson today so Jason and I could go on our date we had been planning since our anniversary in September! This weekend happened to be the anniversary of our engagement 8 years ago, so it was another reason to celebrate! We reminisced about that snowy weekend up in a little cabin in the mountains...gosh that seems like a lifetime ago!

We had a delicious Mexican lunch together on Lake Hefner and then went to race go karts- just like we did on our first date.

It was such a fun afternoon together. Thank you Natalie!

The kids had such a great time at the Ivers. Lauren cried hysterically when we came to pick her up. She didn't want to leave. She was very attached to Violet's Ariel barbie and didn't want to leave her either. She finally gave Ariel back to Violet and said, "Bye Violet, have fun with Ariel, ok?" in such a mature, grown-up voice. Despite the tears minutes before, she really handled herself well and left in good spirits.

Playing at Natalie's house

snack time, lunch time, snack time again...

time to paint (wow Natalie is brave!)

dance recital time!

everyone playing

We had Natalie and Violet over for dinner tonight and when we went to the playroom to check on the kids, this is what we saw...everyone gathered and playing, cuddling, wrestling and gathering around Lauren's big lion pillow-even Loudoun got in on the action! I couldn't get a good picture fast enough, but it was so precious seeing them all gathered together enjoying each other's company with Loudoun standing guard!
